FAQ

Questions
What types of oral surgery procedures do you offer?

We offer a comprehensive range of oral surgery services, including wisdom teeth extraction, dental implants, bone grafting, corrective jaw surgery, treatment for facial trauma, and oral pathology. Our team of skilled oral surgeons is committed to providing the highest quality care in each of these areas, utilizing the latest techniques and technology to ensure optimal outcomes.

How should I prepare for my oral surgery appointment?

Prior to your oral surgery, we ask that you avoid eating or drinking for at least 8 hours before the procedure if you’re undergoing general anesthesia. You should arrange for transportation home, as you may feel drowsy after your surgery. Please inform us of any medications you are taking, as well as any allergies or medical conditions that we should be aware of. Our team will provide you with a comprehensive guide tailored to your specific procedure to help you prepare effectively.

What can I expect during the recovery period following oral surgery?

Recovery times vary depending on the type and complexity of the procedure. Generally, patients may experience some swelling, bruising, and discomfort, which can be managed with prescribed pain medication and ice packs. We recommend resting, avoiding strenuous activities, and eating soft foods for a few days. Our team will provide detailed post-operative instructions and schedule follow-up appointments to monitor your recovery.

Do you accept insurance and what payment options are available?

We work with a broad range of dental insurance plans to help minimize out-of-pocket costs for our patients. Please contact our office with your insurance information so we can verify your coverage prior to your appointment.

How do you ensure patient safety during oral surgery procedures?

Patient safety is our top priority. We adhere to the highest standards of sterilization and infection control following guidelines from the American Dental Association (ADA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Our surgeons and staff are extensively trained in emergency protocols and use state-of-the-art equipment to monitor vital signs and ensure a safe surgical experience.

Will I feel any pain during the procedure?

We strive to make every procedure as comfortable as possible for our patients. Most oral surgeries are performed under local anesthesia, sedation, or general anesthesia, ensuring you will not feel pain during the procedure. Our team will discuss the best anesthesia option for your specific situation and address any concerns you may have about pain management.

What should I do if I experience complications after my surgery?

It is important to follow the post-operative instructions provided by our team carefully. If you experience unusual symptoms such as excessive bleeding, severe pain, fever, or signs of infection, please contact our office immediately. Our team is available to address any complications and provide additional care as needed to ensure a smooth recovery.
